Lamination And Bonding Of Multilayer Composites

Thermal and chemical bonding technologies for the production of thermal barriers and complex protective screens.

Technical Coupling

Technical lamination allows the properties of different materials to be combined into a single high-performance finished product.
We combine fabrics, metallic films, insulating felts and barrier membranes to achieve results that a single material could not provide.
This process is essential for creating screens that require heat reflection, thermal insulation and chemical resistance all at once.

Typical Solutions And Combinations

  • Aluminium lamination: application of aluminium sheets (smooth or embossed) to reflect up to 95% of radiant heat;
  • Fabric + felt lamination: combination of technical fabrics with felt layers to maximise insulation performance in reduced thicknesses;
  • Barrier membranes: inner layers to ensure total impermeability to liquids, vapours or chemicals;
  • Reinforced multilayer: combination of different fibres (e.g. glass + carbon) to balance lightness and rigidity.

Composition Technologies

We use thermoplastic adhesives (web/film) or high-strength polyurethane adhesives.
Thanks to hot calendering, we ensure that the various layers remain perfectly bonded even under extreme operating conditions, preventing any accidental delamination.

FAQs On Lamination And Bonding

What Is The Maximum Operating Temperature For A Laminated Material?

The resistance depends on the bonding system. We have specific technologies that maintain the structural integrity of the adhesive up to 180°C/200°C, whilst the backing fibres can withstand significantly higher temperatures.

Do You Produce Laminates Certified For The Marine Or Railway Sectors?

Yes, we select combinations of fabrics and adhesives that comply with current regulations on flame spread and smoke emission, ideal for shipbuilding and heavy transport.

Can I Request A Laminate Using A Material I Supply?

Certainly. We specialise in assessing the compatibility of different materials to create prototypes or industrial batches of complex laminates to specific customer requirements.
